Gate Coat

A full-length architectural coat whose front is organised like a courtyard gate. Five carved dark-jade cylinder toggles continue from chest to lower body, supported by concealed closures so the coat fastens completely and wears securely. A high stand collar, squared shoulder and narrow cinnabar silk edge create a controlled vertical line; two usable welt pockets are integrated into the front.

Proposed in Inner Mongolian double-faced cashmere, finished with Suzhou silk facing and hand-set jade hardware. The interior is cleanly faced for warmth without visual bulk.
